FAQ – The Fire Stopping Inspection Diploma
The Diploma is available to anyone who wishes to have a greater knowledge of fire stopping, linear gap seals and cavity barriers and is a qualification to provide competence.
The fire stopping inspection diploma online qualification provides a comprehensive level of knowledge in fire stopping specification, installation, inspection and maintenance and repair.
Once you’ve passed the final examination you will have an understanding of how fire stopping, linear gap seals and cavity barriers should be installed onsite and methods of inspection to prove this. This will include the issues around them as well as the standards and regulations that must be adhered to when undertaking repairs, maintenance and installation works.
Gaining the fire stopping inspection diploma will give you the competence to be able to understand the theory of inspection and understand the standards and regulations surrounding them.
Any one who carries out inspection of fire stopping, linear gap seals and cavity barriers onsite would be classed as a competent person under the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005 and this qualification is currently the only qualification to provide competency in the fire stopping industry.
Once you have achieved the fire stopping inspection diploma your competency does not stop there as the next step in your qualification is to become a certificated fire stopping inspector under the fire protection inspection training scheme.
The Fire Stopping Inspection Diploma is now Accredited by The Institute of Fire Safety Managers and Recognised by the Institute of Fire Engineers.
