    Independent Fire Inspections Ltd has launched The Fire Stopping Course which is available online. The Fire Stopping Course is available to anyone who wishes to have a greater knowledge of fire stopping, linear gap seals and cavity barriers. The Fire Stopping Course is an online course which provides a comprehensive level of knowledge in fire stopping specification, installation with an overview of the Regulations Inspection and Maintenance. This course is recommended for installers, supervisors, managers, directors and responsible persons who require an understanding of fire stopping, linear gap seals and cavity barriers, the different products which can be purchased and typically how they should be installed in order to provide the required fire resistance.  This course outlines the primary Regulations and the Approved Document B in relation to fire stopping and cavity barriers. This course identifies the different penetration sealing systems, linear gap seals and cavity barriers onsite and how they should be installed including typical specifications. This course covers maintenance, inspections and quality control.

    FAQ - The Fire Stopping Inspection Diploma The Diploma is available to anyone who wishes to have a greater knowledge of fire stopping, linear gap seals and cavity barriers and is a qualification to provide competence. The fire stopping inspection diploma online qualification provides a comprehensive level of knowledge in fire stopping specification, installation, inspection and maintenance and repair. Once you've passed the final examination you will have an understanding of how fire stopping, linear gap seals and cavity barriers should be installed onsite and methods of inspection to prove this. This will include the issues around them as well as the standards and regulations that must be adhered to when undertaking repairs, maintenance and installation works. Gaining the fire stopping inspection diploma will give you the competence to be able to understand the theory of inspection and understand the standards and regulations surrounding them. Any one who carries out inspection of fire stopping, linear gap seals and cavity barriers onsite would be classed as a competent person under the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005 and this qualification is currently the only qualification to provide competency in the fire stopping industry. Once you have achieved the fire stopping inspection diploma your competency does not stop there as the next step in your qualification is to become a certificated fire stopping inspector under the fire protection inspection training scheme. The Fire Stopping Inspection Diploma is now Accredited by The Institute of Fire Safety Managers and Recognised by the Institute of Fire Engineers. What does this mean? Two Independent respected Institutions have thoroughly examined the course and that the course is considered to be of an appropriate standard that the Institutions are willing to recommend.

The Steel Fire Protection Inspection Diploma online qualification provides a comprehensive level of knowledge in steel fire protection specification, installation, inspection and maintenance and repair. The course is Accredited by The Institute of Fire Safety Managers and is recognised by the Institute of Fire Engineers Once you’ve passed the final examination you will have an understanding of how structural steel fire protection including Wet Spray, Intumescent Coatings and Boards should be installed onsite and methods of inspection to prove this. This will include the issues around them as well as the standards and regulations that must be adhered to when undertaking repairs, maintenance and installation works. Independent Fire Inspections Ltd was formed in May 2015 by Managing Director Ben Freeman. The company was formed to fill the gap in the industry in relation to particularly passive fire protection inspections and training, taking into account current Regulations, Approved Documents and Standards.
